Q1 : How did you get your alias/rap name?
It's just the name everyone called me growing up. My last name is Mula, hence Mules.
Q2 : What year did you first get into hip hop?
It was in High school when I fully got involved in hip hop.
Q3 : Who have been the major influences on your career to date and how? (musical or other)
The people around me. Obviously I have my favorite artists, but I don't think I would be as passionate as I am about it if it wasn't for the crew, you know friends and family keeping me lovin this shit everyday.
Q4 : If you could perform or record with anyone dead or alive - who would it be and why?
Fuck that's hard. There's so many dope rappers that I would love the chance to record with. There are way too many dope rappers out there to choose just one man. But, dead I would have to go with Biggie. You had to know I was gonna answer that! Ha.
Q5 : What countries and cities have you most enjoyed performing in? Any interesting stories to tell?
Too tell you the truth the more rural you go the better the crowd response. It's the towns that get our best performances because they seem to give more to us while on stage. I guess they're just starved more for entertainment out there. Stories nah man that's to incriminating. Haunts is gonna write a book on all those stories when we old, so stay tuned. Ha.
Q6 : Across your career to date, what highlights will you hold onto till you die?
The pasts been good and the futures only gonna be better man! Just meeting and working with different artists, hearing our shit on the radio, watching people at shows dance and get in to our music. Stuff like that's what sticks with me so far.
Q7 : Vinyl and analog have played such a massive part of the development of hip hop, how do you feel about the shift to digital?
Well for me, I'll always be a vinyl man. I love the covers, the sound and just collecting in gereral. But I think the introduction of gear like serrato can only bless the game by making it a lot easier for people to do their thing musically. Plus its so fuckin expensive to get your shit press on wax, its good to know if you want to make your own cuts or what ever, you can.
Q8 : What advice do you have for young, aspiring artists (MCs/DJs/Producers)?
Just be doing it. If you ain't at work or doing that have to shit, be making your music. That's how you stay ahead. Cause if you ain't working on shit expanding on your art, someone else out there is. So you got to stay on top. There are a lot of talented people out there, so you gotta stay on top of your shit man.
Q9 : What one thing in your career you would most want to be remembered for?
I guess I just want what all aspiring artists want. To be remembered for being a dope producer. Someone internationally recognized as one of the best at what they do.
Q10 : What other activities do you enjoy doing when you're not making music, rehearsing or performing?
Just chillin with friends. My time is pretty much split between work and social shit.
Q11 : Why hip hop?
Why not. It just feels right man, it's what I'm used to, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
